Bitcoin Dominates Amid Declining NFT Market While Experiencing a 7-Day Resurgence

  • The non-fungible token (NFT) market has seen a 4.16% decrease in sales volume over the past week.
    According to data from Cryptoslam, the sales volume now stands at $77.6 million.
    This is a decrease from the previous week’s sales.

    There was also a significant 66.81% drop in NFT buyers, going down to 263,804 from the previous week’s 794,763.
    The number of NFT sellers also decreased by 67.87%, falling to 121,399.
    Additionally, NFT transactions decreased by 13.78% over the past week, totaling 1,662,101.

    Bitcoin and Ethereum Lead in Sales Volume

    Ethereum (ETH) had the highest sales volume among blockchains.
    However, the Bitcoin (BTC) network saw a 23.11% increase in volume over the past week.
    The volume for Bitcoin reached $15.6 million, a significant increase from the previous week’s $1.7 million.

    According to Cryptoslam, Ethereum had the highest NFT sales volume at $26.5 million.
    However, $2.7 million of this was attributed to wash trading.
    The number of Ethereum NFT buyers decreased by 52%, totaling 26,673.

    Bitcoin had the second-highest total sales at $15.6 million.
    Solana (SOL) was third with $10.5 million in sales.
    Other chains, including Mythos Chain (MYTH), Polygon (POL), and Binance Coin (BNB), had sales of $8.3 million, $5.3 million, and $3.2 million respectively.

    Solana had the highest number of buyers at 60,115, although this was a decrease from the previous week’s 393,044 buyers.

    DMarket remained the NFT collection with the highest sales over the past week.
    Its sales totaled $8.02 million, which came from over 342,900 transactions.
    Guild of Guardians Heroes was second with $3.02 million in sales.
    CryptoPunks was dethroned by Bitcoin Puppets for the third spot, with the latter seeing a 59.2% increase in sales volume over the past week, totaling $2.97 million.

    The top NFT sales from the past week included Bored Ape Yacht Club #7940, which sold for $1,433,582 (588ETH).
    Axie Infinity sold for $79,729 (32.6 ETH), Known Origin #33608 sold for $73,160 (30 WETH), and CryptoPunks #7476 and #3654 sold for $70,728 (28.99 ETH) and $69,672 (28.5 ETH) respectively.
