I think it is a big mistake to fire Karl. We want Bush to keep Karl, because Karl represents everything repulsive about the Republican party. To fire him or demand an apology would be to say that Karl is an outlier within the Republican party, when in fact he is the party. This is what they are, and we should make sure people know it.
What’s great about this situation is the Bush will never fire Karl. George would interpret that as a sign of weakness and an act of disloyalty. No, he’ll keep him. Which means we’d be able to make the wingnuts pay and pay and pay for Rove’s transgressions.

I would have thought so a few years ago, but now when a Republican pushes the envelope, the envelope just gets bigger. If he gets away with this, it’ll innoculate everyone else in the party.
I find that Karl Rove did not slander the Democratic party in any way what so ever. Each and every statement he made is factually true and even totally used in context. From his statement of the reaction of Liberals (not democrats as a whole, but the poster children for post 9/11 Democrats).
What Durbin did was extremely damaging to America’s fight against terrorism, What liberal forces which were the backbone of the Kerry run for presidency was to say we should litigate and not go to war, what liberal forces, which were entirely embraced by prominent democrats like Haward Dean, John Kerry, John Edwards and others, did was done for simple personal party political reasons and could not in anyones mind posibily be defended as trying to make America Better.
I am not republican, but I have found very little in the Democrats side of the court that makes me feel comfortable allowing them to decide the future of America right now. From making appeasment to the FRENCH and the corrupted United Nation’s, bought and paid for by Saddam Oil for terrorism and tyranies, to their steadfast NEED to find something to make the actions of the Bush led America Evil and illegal, they have nothing to offer this great nation.
Social Security, it is either not in trouble or there is nothing that democrats can agree can be done to make it better. Afraid to use the words TAX HIKE are we? Afraid to use the term BENIFIT cut I guess? Certainly Democrats are afraid of Americans actually having ANYTHING remotely similar to freedom and inheritable assets which something like a Social Security personal account would afford them, because real affluent Americans who actually EARN their money with hard work and the sweat of the hearts and souls vote for Conservative value candidates.
War on terror, well, unless the French help, its not a legal war, enough said.
Unemployment, well, in order to increase employment we must force ever decreasing in size companies to purchase extremely expensive health insurance for all of their employees, raise the minimum wage, allow as many as possible uneducated illegal immigrants (AKA hard working seasonal workers from foreign land with no documentation by liberals), we should also force extraordinary hurdles in the form of environmental protections, a tax code that requires alot of lawyers to understand so no mom and pop can afford to benifit from it, basically lets increase the cost to start a company by as much as possible and watch employment grow. Liberal views.
Education. Well the way to improve education is to make teachers unaccountable for their performance and totally safe from being removed from their post. We should not require students to actually LEARN anything and prove it in standardized tests, we should leave that up t the 100% secure in their status teachers to do. Also, we should not promote competition between schools, heaven forbid a school start losing students due to its lack of ability to teach. Grades? we don’t need any stinking grades, they just unfairly place judgement on children and MAKE THEM FEEL BAD.
Find me a cause the liberals are actually on the side of a better America Please, because i simply have not found one.

Democrats and liberals responded as did almost everyone else on 911, with shock, horror, alacrity and determination. What we didn’t do was use it as an excuse to cheapen everything the country stands for. That was Karl Rove and George W. Bush and people like you.
Dick Durbin isn’t killing Americans; that distinction belongs to the commander in chief who lied us into a war and sent our troops into battle without adequate equipment — after two years, there still aren’t enough up-armored humvees and ceramic inserts for body armor — and without any plan whatsofrickinever for securing the country afterward.
Dick Durbin didn’t let Osama go, and Dick Durbin didn’t divert so many resources to Iraq from Afghanistan that the latter country is still a mess. What Dick Durbin said is that when you hear about prisoners tortured and murdered, you think of people like Pol Pot, Stalin and the Nazis because Americans are supposed to be better than that. Maybe you disagree. Maybe you think it’s okay for Americans to act like thugs and torturers. Maybe you think we aren’t better than Stalin’s minions, so we don’t have any obligation to behave like it. That’s not Dick Durbin’s problem: that’s yours.
You know who liberals want therapy for? You, and people like you who are so fearful that you can’t pull your head out of wherever it is and take a realistic look around. You need therapy, bubba, to learn how to think for yourself instead of spouting the nearest talking points.
Liberals, on the other hand, actually believe in the rule of law. Use force when you have to — not, as in Iraq, when you only want to — and trust in the law for the rest.
You want to know who’s killing Americans? You are, with your contempt for the law and for American values hung out for all the world to see. It’s you, bubba, by persuading the entire world that American values are so much bullshit, that we don’t mean the things we say, that we only pay lip service to the ideals of freedom and liberty and justice for anyone other than ourselves. You’re killing soldiers every day, bubba, and every day you make the US a little less than it was before.

Many liberals have served their country in the Armed Forces, supporting the President and the Constitution as conditional to their commission.
Liberals have died keeping their country free and sent their children to die, young men and women who sometimes die in old men’s wars.
I am proud to be an American and yet not proud of all that we have done. I haved served my country with distinction yet do not absolve it of a greater responsibility to the world. I am a liberal.
