If you’ve ever watched a White House briefing or presidential news conference and thought, “Damn, I wish they’d ask him about …,” now’s your chance. Our White House writer, Eric Brewer, will be attending the press gaggles and briefings periodically throughout the year, and he’ll be keeping an eye out for good questions in the comments on this post. He may never get the opportunity to ask them, but things have been going pretty well so far.
So, fire away. Reply to this post with whatever questions you think the White House ought to be answering. La casa blanca es su casa.

Mr President!
Show US the weapons of mass destruction or show US your resignation…please.
I want to know how many Iraqis have died since Bush started his war in comparison to the number of Iraqis who died at the hands of Saddam Hussein.
Please ask the president, “Many American people trust that you believe in working with both parties in a bipartisan manner, wouldn’t offering another nominee for the post of U.N. ambassador, that both parties could agree on be the most consistent with the spirit of cooperation?
Please ask the white house “Recently, on her visit to Egypt – Condaleeza Rice said that “America does not impose it’s own brand of government in other countries” – can you please explain then, what the US has been attempting to do in both Afghanistan & Iraq?”
Or – “During her recent visit in Egypt – Condaleeza Rice specifically reproached the Egyptian government for it’s handling of peaceful protests – and the recent attacks on peaceful women protesters in Egypt – don’t you find it at all odd that this statement echoed a similar one by Ayman Al-Zawahri in HIS most recent video?”
“When Mr. Rumsfeld says – in reference to civilian casualties in Iraq – that the US ‘doesn’t keep bodycounts’ – doesn’t this imply to middle eastern viewers, if not the worldwide audience – that the welfare of Iraqis is the least of this administrations concerns especially when independent researchers in the US and the UK place the figure at at LEAST 100,000?”
Sorry for putting up more than one question – but choose what you think is best. They all seem fairly important.
Make this question a top priorty please, please, please.
There is a website online at http://www.toxicreality.com. There is a letter from The White House posted on this site that states that a Mr. Stephen J. O’Dell is in your own words is the Sovereign Ruler of The Kingdom of Infinia’. My question is Why Has The White House Granted Mr. O’Dell the status a “State” as defined under Article 6 of 1933 Montevideo Convention on The Rights and Duties of States?
We know this sounds really crazy but We would really like to see what kind of reaction you get to this question. The letter by the way is real and has been accepted as such by several judges and legal people in Our area. If you would like more information please contact Us.
According to the Department of Agriculture, the number of food stamp recipients has risen sharply for the past four years in a row. The tax cuts enacted in 2001-2003 are structured such that over time they benefit the rich more, so that in 2010, the tax cut’s benefit will go primarily to the top 1% income earners. Given the sharp increase in poverty and reduction of real incomes which have caused the increase in the number of food stamp recipients, should more progressive taxes be helpful to offset the increasing regressivity of the ’01-’03 tax cuts?

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Here’s a diary I wrote yesterday on dKos with exactly the request you offer:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/6/27/123432/153
The question in question is this: “Mr. President, is it because it is “the hardest part of [your] job” that you have yet to attend the funeral of a single soldier killed in Iraq?”
I understand your daughters, who have recently graduated, are looking to work. Have you encouraged them to enlist, and if not, why not?
The Washington Post reported today that Tony Blair and senior British officials believed, based on conversations with Condi Rice and George Tenet, that by early 2002 you had already decided to invade Iraq. Why would Rice and Tenet think that?
Mr. President, Defense Secretary Rumsfeld recently stated that the U.S. government is unable to predict how much longer substantial numbers of American troops must remain to fight the insurgency in Iraq, but that it could take as long as another 12 years to defeat the insurgency. Assuming Secretary Rumsfeld is correct that the insurgency could last another 12 years, how does your administration plan to guarantee that the U.S. will maintain and pay for this military commitment to Iraq possibly until the year 2017, which would be another 9 years after your term of office expires in 2008?
And as a follow up question, Vice President Cheney recently stated that the Iraqi insurgency is in its “last throes.” How do you reconcile the Vice President’s prediction with Secretary Rumsfeld’s statement that he does not know when the insurgency will be defeated such that American troops can return home?
Mr President: Recently, there have been reports in the British press about the US Military’s use of Napalm and, specifically, HK-77 munitions, in Iraq. Since use of such weapons was banned by international convention in 1980, is it your intention to push for the prosecution of the criminals who authorized the use of these weapons?
Do you believe that the laws of God take precidence over the laws of man? Why?
Mr. President: Can you say “nuclear” correctly, just one time on the record? For me? Pretty please?
Dear Mr. President. Does God speak directly to you? Is She happy about our presence in Iraq? Does she like people who are Islamic or Buddhist or some other religion or should Crhistians kill them?
Mr President,
When are you going to allow the U.S liberals to win elections in the future particularly after you leave office in 2008. As you know, bipartisan congress has largely been unsuccessfull in fixing the balloting system since florida 2000. This system is heavily biased against the Kook Left & the liberal inteligentia, which is a blatant violation of our socialist human rights, specifically my vote not being counted. It is my patriotic duty to bring this matter to your attention.
Mr. President: You have made many pronouncements about your religious faith, and how it informs your work as President. Do you believe, as many of your supporters do, that it is God’s will and plan that the world should soon be destroyed in fulfilment of Biblical prophesy? And, if so, as Commander and Chief, with control over the greatest destructive arsenal in history, would you consider it your responsibility to say “God’s will be done” and act accordingly, or to honor your oath of office to protect the survival of the United States?
WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE IDEA THAT THE IRAQI OIL REVENUES WOULD FUND THE WAR ,AND WHO IS GETTING THOSE REVENUES NOW,WHY DO WE HAVE TO KEEP SPENDING 5 BILLION A WEEK OF TAXPAYER MONEY AND FOR HOW MUCH LONGER CAN WE AFFORD TO DO THIS?
What has happened to common sence?
Border line immigration==Force Mexico to pay the same wages for services as we pay!!Then the honest workers will stay in Mexico. Then Only terrorists and Arms And Dope smugglers,
would be jumping the Border. Catch them and proscute them to life with out parole, Put them to work building border fences and Prisons. Property not a problen///Put more stories on exsisting prisons///Take action.
WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THE ONE I JUST SENT YOU?
Ask the President this:
“Sir, when you see a total asshole like me sitting in the audience, why would you call on me?”
Fern, we’ll leave that one to you.
sir, do you think it will ever be within the realm of possibility to have a president who looks like Jimmy Smits?
Mr. President
When the Lord speaks to you, does He do it
in a dream. Can you hear his voice?

Mister Bush just Why EXACTLY have you issued orders for your Military war machine to prevent the disclosure, reporting of or doing of “BODY COUNTS”?
Regarding what your former deputy assistant attorney general John Yoo wrote in his NYTimes essay of September 17th that you have “re-classified national security information made public in earlier administrations”:
How is a citizen who saved this information when it was public to know whether it is now a classified secret? Will you be publishing a list of items that we may no longer discuss?
Regarding your former deputy assistant attorney general John Yoo’s very recent essay in the NYtimes of September 17th:
“The president has better access to expertise from the unified executive branch — including its top secret data — than the more ad hoc information Congress develops through hearings and investigations”.
This supposedly superior source of intelligence led you to order the invasion of Iraq thinking it had WMD that were such an immediate threat that there was no time to waste in invading. Is your method of SELECTING which of the top secret data is accurate any DIFFERENT today than it was three and 1/2 years ago? If so how, if not, do you not think a better method should be employed?
Regarding what your former deputy assistant attorney general John Yoo wrote in his NYTimes essay of September 17th that you “declined, citing executive privilege, to disclose information to Congress or the courts about its energy policy task force” (referring to early 2001, the corporate sabotage of California’s energy supply):
Please remember that this information was secret before you became a wartime president, presumably there was some pressing need at the time to keep it secret even then. Thus, Americans must assess your energy policy without knowing what was discussed, who formulated it, what actions were taken as a consequence — it seems impossible. Would you care to state your energy policy here now, or do you refuse to disclose it on the grounds of executive privelege/national security?
PS. note re above: sorry, it should read “(referring to early 2001, before the corporate sabotage of California’s energy supply that summer)
Mr. Bush, I understand you recently read Camus’ The Stranger.
What ideas did you take away from the work — How does it relate to today’s world?
You keep talking about victory in Iraq but you have never defined what you mean by victory so would you define victory for us?
You keep mentioning social security and that you are going to fix it yet everything you have done so far has been a failure so my question would be why should we trust you to fix social security when it is so important to people?
Considering the almost unparalleled corruption that now exists in congress in the last two years of your office would you implement election reform that eliminates the undue influence of giant corporations that is the base root of this corruption?
