Lordy, how I wish we had Question Time in our house. Bush* would have been out of office and under heavy sedation, or vice versa, in no time at all.
LONDON (Reuters) – A group of MPs plan to invoke a parliamentary procedure last used more than 150 years ago to impeach Prime Minister Tony Blair over the war in Iraq, newspapers say.Eleven MPs, mainly Welsh and Scottish nationalists who opposed the war and two Conservatives, want to use the dated practice to force Blair to defend himself at Westminster over his decision to go to war.
Although it has almost no chance of success and is likely to be seen as little more than a publicity stunt, the plan will throw the spotlight back on the reasons Blair gave the country for going to war, the newspapers said on Thursday.

The Reuters article notes that the right to impeach ‘any person accused of “high crimes and misdemeanours”‘ was last exercised in 1848 and was last successfully employed in 1806 (against this guy, if you’re interested; he was acquitted). Obviously, it takes more than a blow job for the Brits to get seriously steamed at their leaders. Maybe they figure question time is usually punishment enough, although Blair actually seems to enjoy it.
It really isn’t fair that even when he’s making monkey faces, Blair looks better than Bush* caught in a comparable pose. Neither is it fair that he managed to bamboozle his country into war without bankrupting its treasury and credibility. In fact, he deserves at least some of the blame for the gullibility of our public about the whole mess; I remember people here saying they could see Bush* lying about the deal, but not Tony … maybe it’s the accent.
