The Society for Professional Journalists has a code of ethics, but when I asked (in 2007?), I was told that adherence to it is optional.

(and I believe there’s no way to tell which SPJ members consider themselves to be bound by it and which don’t)

This is a very interesting article. I had never heard of this publication before (Frank: Politics for the Real World). They seem to have provocative articles… is there any way for you to tell me how we can order copies of this publication? Also, is it available online?
