Plame-At-A-Glance™

For all you visual learners out there, here’s what we know now, or what we suspect, or, in some cases, what has been [cough] asserted.

Updated 2/1 to add Grossman, Ford, and Kansteiner. (h/t Sbw)

Update: As SteveH notes in comments, not all of the “leaks” on the chart are true leaks. However, “Ill-advised Transfer of Knowledge Regarding Valerie Plame’s Employment Status” didn’t fit on the chart.

Updated 2/2 to reflect that Bartlett’s source was the INR memo from Ford via Powell on Air Force 1 to Africa. (h/t swopa)

Updated 2/12: Pincus and his source(s) added and Lippert removed (h/t pollyusa). Plus Miller’s “loose talk” and this tantalizing possibility (h/t swopa).

    Sbw Says:

You do not include Grossman or the INR date June 10, 2003, he received and later caused to be reissued with a later date. It creates an entirely independent source for the Plame association with the CIA. Grossman was Wilson’s friend and Armitage’s underling.

    Sbw Says:

How about two different colors (maybe three) for queries?

    1) General (Not specifically asking about Plame [i.e. Who sent?])
    2) Ambiguous (Not sure whether asking about Plame — no evidence or testimony.
    3) About Plame [i.e His wife works at CIA? His wife sent him?]

    SteveH Says:

There should be different colored solid arrows for 2 different types of information exchange: Libby to Cheney is not a leak, nor is Grossman to Armitage a leak. Those are between people who, presumably, have clearance to know classified information. Libby to Cooper or Miller, or Armitage to Woodward or Novak, those are leaks.

I took the liberty of reposting this on DU. It was quite well received, but if you’d rather I remove it, just let me know…

    sbw and SteveH,

Good points, but I was trying to keep it simple. I’ll add a disclaimer about my use of the word ‘leak’.

LaFourmiRouge: Great. The idea is to enlighten as many people as possible. An acknowledgement would be nice.

This chart is the clearest demonstration I’ve seen that there was a conspiracy to out an undercover CIA agent.

Lippert didn’t recieve the leak, she had left before Fleischer told Dickerson and Gregory.

    Pincus and Kessler are missing.

    Nice job

    What about Russert?

    Weldon Berger Says:

Has anyone said Russert was on the receiving end of the leak? Libby says Russert told him, but I don’t recall anyone on the administration end saying they told Russert.
