Bob, asking reasonable questions about the Bush Administration's manic invasions is like trying to psychoanalyze feeding-frenzied sharks. I never thought Iraq was about oil, I thought it was about contracts. Since Hersh's article, I am convinced that even contacts are only a fringe benefit.

All of this--Iraq, Iran, and even Afghanistan--is about meglomania. Bush is mad.

I have two sons of draft age and one coming to it in a couple years. Since reinstating the draft is the only way we can fight another war, an invasion of Iran might very well be the death of them.

One might well ask who the next Hitler is.

How can the Bush administration believe that a bombing campaign killing Iranian servicmen and civilians will bring a pro-American government to power in Iran?

Have they forgotten how a devastating air attack on Pearl Harbor united a divided America against foreign aggression?

Have they been duped by opportunistic exiles like those who said "regime change" in Iraq would be quick and easy?

Do they not know that foreign-supported, monarchist coups against independent and secular Iranian regimes in 1911 and 1953 turned Iranians to religious extremism?

Are they unaware of Sharin Ebadi, a Nobel Prize-winning Iranian activist and moderate who clearly says that democracy will not be brought to Iran by bombs?

Iranians value their independence and if Mr. Bush wants a more moderate Iran willing to abandon any plans for nuclear weapons, he needs to abandon all talk of another bloody "regime change."

I heard this story on the radio on the way to pick up my teenage son from a performance. When he got in the car, I told him that we are not leaving him and his siblings the same United States my parents left me. The President has slipped into madness. I am not making a joke. Where is Congress?

I am really afraid that these idiots haven't learned a lesson in Iraq and may be stupid enough to attack Iran...and if nukes are used I think there should be many countries ready to send Bush to the Hague for trial.

I think it's more as if Dr. Strangelove was being staged as a Truman Show-like sitcom. Waiting for the HMIs to come crashing down from the sky ...
